Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) – A Brief History in T.A.G.

Christian Men’s Fellowship (CMF) has a long-standing history within the Tanzania Assemblies of God (T.A.G.).

First, the idea began as a burden and desire from the national church leadership. Secondly, it arose from the needs expressed by men themselves, and thirdly, it was a long-standing request from the Women’s Department (Wanawake Watumishi wa Kristo – W.W.K) of our church.

In 2008, during the third phase of church leadership under Bishop Dr. Barnabas Mtokambali, T.A.G. formulated a 10-Year Harvest Implementation Strategic Development Vision for the church.

Under Section C of that vision — “Raise the standard of both personal and corporate worship” — Subsection C4:5 outlined a specific strategy:

“Establish the Men’s Department.”
